Paint the Playground!

PNPC Turns 45

This summer, we’re celebrating a special milestone—45 years of learning, play, and community.

Join us in marking this occasion with a community art project that brings together current & alumni PNPC families, and our neighbors in the Phinney community.

We’re partnering with the Phinney Neighborhood Association (PNA) during Art Walk weekend to Paint the Playground, creating a large, colorful mural on the blacktop that will also serve as an interactive scooter and bike trail. It’s a lasting gift to future generations of PNPC families and the Phinney community, and a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the creativity, play, and community that make this neighborhood so special.

Thanks to a $5,000 Neighborhood Matching Fund grant and a $5,000 contribution from PNPC, we have the resources to make it happen.

The mural is being brought to life in partnership with two talented local artists, Rosie Alyea and Tori Shao. Inspired by the 2026 Pre-K class artwork and community input, they will design and chalk the layout on the blacktop. Then comes the fun part: families, alumni, and neighbors of all ages are invited to help prepare and paint the mural together, creating a lasting piece of community art.
